The story behind

The video opens on a quiet morning in the capital of Denmark at Frederiksberg Church. The almost 300 year old church is undergoing the greatest renovation ever. Today the time has come for something seemingly simple and banal: the windows must be polished.

But today's shine worries the churchwarden: He fears things can go terribly wrong. Everything has to be perfect for the great initiation, but there is one problem: Inside the two large leaded windows at the altar, secondary glazing were fitted 24 years ago: More than 5 meters high unprotected window glass without a frame that needs to be taken down, so that it can be cleaned between the two windows. It requires ingenuity and the right tool – the windows has never been polished before.

Today's main character arrives: Glazier company Snoer comes with a 550-model of their glass lifts from Global Lift Group. The architect has deceived a heavier and bigger lift – she’s afraid a heavier lift will go through the floor and fall in to a ancient tomb by the window As the glass lift sucks on to the window, a new challenge becomes clear: the big window is placed two meters up, and the glass suction cups can not reach more than 4.5 meters. The lift can easily hold the window in a firm grip at the bottom of the window - but can the thin glass keep itself straight and up, or will it break when the top is going to swing back and forth?

The story behind

In Denmark one of the countrys few high rise buildings is being renovated. Today a new window section is to be mounted at 16th floor of the 120 meters high Herlev Hospital in Copenhagen. This is a job for Snoer Glaziers and their glass lift 550 from Global Lift Group. We follow the glass lift go to work.

First thing for the glazier crew is to remove the window section with the broken glass from the doctors restroom. The GLG 550 is a powerfull lift doing 550 kilos, but still it easily fits into lifts and narrow corridors at the hospital. The lift mount on the old window pane by its suction disks, and lifts the section out of the frame. With the 550’s flexible 3D-head, it tilts and rotates the window section, and then very slowly reverses into the room – and the new window can be mounted.

The alternative to use a glass lift here would be to use af huge construction crane mounting the window section from the outside. This is less trouble - and les money. Even though this is the first time the operator from the glaziers is handling a GLG 550, the new window section is placed after a few hours – job done with no scratches, no broken glass.

The story behind

In collaboration with one of France’s biggest tool rental companies, KilouTou, Global Lift Group has developed a new tool for big glass lifts: A strong grabber.

GLG 550 is a small but very strong lift. Normally it is equipped with suction disks to lift and mount window sections – but not today. In France the grabber will be used to place heavy iron-supports under the ceiling during renovation inside old Paris-flats.

The powerfull and precise hydraulic glass lift from Global Lift Group is well suited for the task, therefor the factory i Denmark has made this customised grabber tool.On his way to France with the first GLG 550 mounted with a grabber, GLG sales manager Kurt Nielsen visits a small contractor in Denmark, where he demonstrates the grabber at work.
